Psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy is a treatment that addresses suffering, creating possibilities for change by unsettling the past and opening up the future. Our confidential relationship allows for exploration of your mind, memories, experiences, associations, dreams, fantasies, relationships and feelings. During sessions you are expected to say whatever comes to mind without censoring yourself and I will listen carefully and closely offering questions, comments, connections, and at times your own words back to you so we can hear them in new ways. The symptoms that bring us into therapy are ways of communicating something and part of our work will be listening for the logic and the deeper meaning and conflict beneath your symptoms. This process can shift compulsive repetition into choice, open up the chance for something new and unfold different ways of relating to self and others.
I provide individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults with sessions occurring at least once a week and up to five times a week. I offer telehealth sessions via Zoom and phone call as well as in-person sessions at my office in the Eastlake neighborhood of Seattle. I am an in-network provider for First Choice, Kaiser, Premera, Lifewise, and Regence. I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurance companies and, upon request, will supply you with a receipt for payment and services for you to submit. Check with your insurance company to find out more about your out-of-network coverage before the first session. If you are interested in working with me you can reach me by phone, email, or the contact form below. We can meet for a fifteen minute consultation to discuss why you are seeking psychotherapy, fees, scheduling and moving forward; there is no charge for this initial consultation.
